MEd. MACP (Candidate)
Nazila is a counselling intern with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, families, and diverse communities across clinical, educational, and community mental health settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and brings a strong foundation in child development, learning differences, emotional regulation, and family systems.
Nazila has worked closely with children and youth navigating behavioural and emotional challenges, including ADHD-related concerns, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, and relational stress within families. She also supports parents in understanding their child’s emotional world, strengthening connection, and building practical, developmentally appropriate strategies at home.
Nazila has extensive experience working with multicultural, immigrant, and refugee populations and is deeply attuned to the ways culture, migration, and intergenerational experiences shape mental health and family dynamics. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centred, with an emphasis on creating a safe and respectful space where clients feel heard and understood. She integrates psychoeducation, CBT-informed strategies, and solution-focused interventions to support emotional awareness, skill-building, and meaningful change.
Nazila values working at a pace that feels supportive and empowering, particularly for children and families who may feel overwhelmed or unsure about therapy.
She is fluent in Farsi, Azari, and Turkish, and is committed to culturally responsive and inclusive care.
