Have you ever felt like no one truly understands what you're going through? The feeling where you wish you could talk to someone who listens deeply, without judgment—just with genuine curiosity and care? That’s the kind of space I strive to create in therapy, where you can feel truly heard and supported.
My name is Hiba Saleem. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of Toronto, where I double majored in Psychology and Sociology. My academic path, paired with hands-on experience supporting neurodivergent children and youth, has deepened my commitment to working with individuals navigating anxiety, OCD, emotional regulation challenges, and developmental differences.
Professionally, I work as a Lead Instructor Therapist, where I support children and youth with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and other developmental or emotional challenges. In this role, I provide one-on-one therapeutic support using evidence-based strategies, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate closely with families, teachers, and other clinicians to ensure each client receives well-rounded, consistent care. I also play a leadership role in mentoring newer therapists, helping them apply techniques with confidence and empathy. This experience has taught me how to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs while building strong therapeutic relationships rooted in trust and respect.
I take a strength-based, compassionate approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and behavioral interventions, with a flexible, client-centered focus. I’m also trained as a Registered Behavior Technician and hold certifications in crisis intervention and first aid.
What makes therapy with me different is the energy and playfulness I bring to each session. I’ve often been told I’m easy to talk to and bring a calm, reassuring presence into the room. Whether you’re a child, teen, or caregiver, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where healing can begin—with empathy and curiosity leading the way.
I’m currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and practicing as a psychotherapy intern under clinical supervision. If you’re looking for someone who will meet you where you are and walk with you at your pace, I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
