Is your child/teen experiencing big feelings, struggling to make friends, having frequent tantrums, becoming isolated, or feeling anxious? Feeling at a loss with how to support them and wish there was a parenting manual? Are you a young adult struggling with life transitions, anxious about the future, or experiencing relationship difficulties?
With seven years of experience, I specialize in supporting children, teens, young adults (19–23 years of age), and parents through a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, school/work issues, parental separation/divorce, self-esteem challenges, and grief. I work collaboratively with parents and offer parent coaching, empowering them with practical tools that foster understanding and connection.
I am a South Asian woman with lived experience as an economic immigrant, having navigated life across three culturally distinct countries and five cities. This journey has given me a unique perspective on the challenges of such transitions and a deep appreciation of the ways that race, culture, and religion intersect and influence our lives and our relationships with ourselves and others.
I bring humor, silliness, fun, art, games, and creative tools like sand so my clients can engage in a way that feels comfortable, without the pressure to talk if they're not ready! My therapeutic approach is flexible, evolving to meet clients ‘where they are at,’ using Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Informed by a neuroscience, attachment, and trauma lens, I believe a safe therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of any healing journey. I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care and to decolonizing mental health.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, holding a BA in Psychology from McGill University, Canada, and an MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice from University College London (UCL) and the Anna Freud National Centre, UK. Additionally, I am a Registered Sandplay Therapist (STR) with the Association for Sandplay Therapy (AST), USA, and have specialized training in Play Therapy from the Canadian Association of Play Therapy. As a bilingual therapist, I offer services in both English and Urdu.
If you’re a teen or young adult seeking a warm and empathetic therapist to support you in gaining practical tools, or a parent looking for guidance for your child or yourself, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help!
